The iPhone 12 Pro Max and Galaxy S21 Ultra are two of Apple's and Samsung's most opulent smartphones. Here's how the two smartphone kings compare to one another.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the crown jewels of Apple and Samsung's respective flagship ranges, have arrived. The top-of-the-line features reserved for smartphone royalty are packed into each device: blazing-fast processors, brilliant screens, flexible cameras, and long-lasting batteries.

Neither is inexpensive, as one might assume. The Galaxy S21 Ultra costs around $1,200, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max costs $1,099. There isn't a charger included in either packaging.

Both Apple and Samsung have clearly excelled themselves, but the phone that is best for you will be determined by your specific goals and needs.

Let's go over the main features and compare samsung galaxy s21 ultra specs and iPhone 12 Pro Max specs.

Camera Capabilities

Both the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Galaxy S21 Ultra have the best smartphone camera. Even on gloomy evenings, they have outstanding cameras capable of shooting broad panoramas, detailed remote subjects, and astonishingly sharp photographs. According to CNET's Andrew Hoyle, a professional photographer who ran a detailed shootout with both phones, the S21 Ultra generated superior zoomed-in photographs, while the iPhone captured the most realistic photographs (watch his video below). His tests revealed no clear winner when it came to night mode.

Keep in mind that the iPhone 12 Pro versions include lidar, a depth sensor that can be used for auto-focusing in low-light situations when taking photos, videos, or slow-motion recordings, among other things.

Camera Counts

The iPhone 12 Pro Max features three rear cameras: a regular, ultra-wide, and telephoto lens, while the S21 Ultra has an additional telephoto lens, for a total of four. The S21 Ultra boasts a higher-resolution camera on the front than the 12 Pro Max.

Battery life

Apple doesn't reveal the battery size of its iPhones, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max is no exception. However, CNET's Patrick Holland, who reviewed the device, refers to the battery as the "sleeper function" of the 12 Pro Max. According to his tests, the battery lasted for more than a day and a half. When Patrick played a looped film on airplane mode, the iPhone 12 Pro Max lasted 19 hours, 52 minutes, which is near enough to Apple's claimed 20 hours of performance for this test. Meanwhile, the S21 Ultra is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. We haven't put it through the video loop test yet, but Patrick claims it lasted him a day and a half.

Resolution display

The S21 Ultra has the edge in terms of resolution and refreshes rate, even though both phones have premium OLED displays that are beautifully crisp. The S21 Ultra boasts a 120 Hz display with a huge quad-HD+ resolution (3,200x1,440 pixels). The iPhone 12 Pro Max's screen features a resolution of 2,778x1,284 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate, which is the same as the iPhone 11.

The S21 Ultra also boasts a variable refresh rate that ranges from 10 to 120Hz, depending on what's on the screen. The number of frames per second that a phone screen can display is measured in hertz, which impacts how fast and smooth the screen seems when scrolling through apps and online pages.

Design

The iPhone 12 Pro Max's design is leagues ahead of the S21 Ultra's. The Samsung phone looks like any other generic phone, and neither its finish nor its build quality compares to what Apple does with the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is a stunning, well-designed phone with clean lines and a nice appearance. The S21 Ultra, with its massive camera hump that causes it to wobble on the table and is top-heavy, is simply not up to the task.

Software

The iPhone 12 Pro Max gets a slew of new features with iOS 14, including widgets on the home screen for quick access to information and a Smart Stack with multiple widgets in one place. Additionally, the new App Library feature automatically groups your apps by category.

Apple's messaging software also includes several useful features, such as pinned conversations and inline replies. iOS 14 also has a more streamlined look, with a smaller Siri and calls UI that remains out of the way. If you have AirPods Pro, you can enjoy a 360-degree sound experience with the spatial audio feature.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra runs One UI 3.0 on top of Android 11 and has its own set of features. This features a large number of widgets that may be accessed without having to unlock your phone. The Quick Panel can now be customized to get things done faster, and there are new camera gimmicks like Director's View, which allows you to capture video with both the front and back cameras at the same time.

The support for the S Pen, however, is a one-of-a-kind feature. The S21 Ultra's display contains a digitizer that accepts S Pen input. For $69.00, you can get a silicone case with an S Pen. Based on my tests, the S Pen performs admirably, making it ideal for taking notes and sketching, although it lacks Bluetooth compatibility.

Performance

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a powerful Snapdragon 888 processor and 12GB of RAM, but it falls short of the iPhone 12 Pro Max in simulated and real-world tests.

The s21 ultra on multicore test notched 3440 and on the single-core, it notched 1123. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 Pro max notched 4100 on multicore, and on the single-core, it notched 1600, which makes it better than Samsung.

The S21 Ultra scored 34 frames per second on the 3DMark Wild Life graphics benchmark. The iPhone 12 Pro Max, on the other hand, averaged 41 frames per second.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra took 1 minute and 2 seconds to transcode a 4K video to 1080p in our video editing test using the Adobe Premiere Rush software. Only 28 seconds were required for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

OVERALL WINNER

Both iPhone 12 Pro max and galaxy s21 ultra are giving tough competition to each other. Some features are best in the iPhone where some features are top-notch in Samsung.

It's hard to decide the final winner of the game.

Apple and Samsung have never been closer than they are now. The iPhone 12 Pro Max narrowly defeats the Galaxy S21 Ultra in this contest because of its superior performance and image quality. With its flat sides, the iPhone's design is also a little more sturdy and easier to grip.

No matter which mobile phone wins the competition, you will not lose in this Galaxy S21 vs iPhone 12 Ultra match. As a result, these two phones are at the top of our best phone list. And that's why these two amazing smartphones secured the top 2 spots in our best phone list.
